Rooted in James 1:27, we believe pure and faultless religion before God is caring for orphans and widows in their distress—while reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A Word From Our Founder: “Thank you for sending us to the lost, the sick, the lonely, the hungry, the naked.” — Evangelist Naboth
Welcome to our history—a story written by the hand of the Lord.
What you’re about to read is not the strategic blueprint of a large organization. It is the testimony of what happens when ordinary people simply say “yes” to God. The Guma Na Yesu Children’s Centre was not built through wealth or perfect planning—it was built through divine appointments, radical hospitality, and steadfast faith that God provides for His vision.
From a single speaker carried on a shoulder to a thriving sanctuary that has served hundreds of children, this is the unfolding story of Pastor Naboth and Alice Tumuhairwe, our faithful partners Jon and Ann Dunagan, and a ministry anchored in one daily pledge: Keep With Jesus.
We invite you to read our story, witness God’s faithfulness, and be encouraged to step out in faith in your own life.
“Guma Na Yesu” is a Runyankole phrase pronounced “Goom-uh nuh Yay-soo,” translating to “Keep with Jesus.”
Established in 1991 by Naboth and Alice Tumuhairwe, the ministry began with a desire to extend love and compassion to those in need.
Today, Guma Na Yesu Foundation operates across South Western Uganda through three pillars:
Reaching communities with the life-changing message of the Gospel.
Establishing spiritual homes and communities of faith.
Comprehensive care, love, and support for 1,000+ vulnerable children.
We serve children identified and rescued during evangelism crusades—many orphaned, abandoned at birth, or affected by abuse and neglect.
Evangelist Naboth Tumuhairwe and his wife Alice Tumuhairwe are the founders of Guma Na Yesu. With a lifelong commitment to the Gospel and compassionate service, they have helped build a ministry that reaches communities across Western Uganda and beyond.
Their vision is simple: Keep With Jesus — preach the Gospel, plant strong churches, and care for vulnerable children with love and dignity.
Our care includes food, shelter, clothing, education, and spiritual welfare through Adullam Schools, Kingdom Secondary School, and Adullam Vocational Training Centres.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” — James 1:27
